Tony Lauck is the Technical Director for Networking at Digital Equipment Corporation. For the past sixteen years his group has designed the network architecture and protocols behind Digital's DECnet computer networking products. His group has played a leading role in local area network standardization, including Ethernet, FDDI, and transparent bridged LANs. His group has also played a leading role in standardizing the OSI network and transport layers. Recently, his group has developed high performance network adapters and very high performance TCP/IP host networking software for the OSF operating system running on Alpha processors.
