From: cjsigal@netcom.com (Chuck Sigal) Subject: Berkeley Buggiers Thankyou Message-ID: Organization: The Ad-Hoc Committee for the Preservation of Ceasar Chavez Park Date: Thu, 9 May 1996 08:01:53 -1000 I would like to thank all of you who showed your support for buggying at The Berkeley Marina's Ceasar Chavez Park. I know that the flood of e-mail had a great effect. I would especially like to thank the many people who attended last night's Waterfront Commission meeting and voiced their support for buggying. The commission, by admission of the Chair, had NEVER experienced anything like the response we presented them with last night. THANK YOU ALL! Contrary to popular wisdom and president the Commission actually chose to act, rescending the ban on kite buggying pending further study. The vote was 7 to 1. The chairperson, who does not usually cast a vote except in the case of a tie, made a point of recording his vote in our favor. This battle has been won but the war is not over. The further study ordered by the commission is to be carried out by the same man who illegally imposed the ban in the first place. He is to submit his recomendations next month. Can anyone guess what they might be? ;-) And so the struggle continues... Stay tuned for more exciting action from The Peoples Republic of Berzerkley. -- +-------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | "A government that is big enough to give you all you want | | is big enough to take it all away." - Barry Goldwater | | Chuck Sigal | | Albany, CA, USA Voice/Fax: +1.510.527.3547 e-mail: cjsigal@netcom.com | +-------------------------------------------------------------------------+ = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
