That makes it difficult to "steal" construction details from the well known commercial kites - this is where You step in! At the bottom of the spine, I placed a horisontal 3cm piece of PVC tube, with holes for the spine and the two sailbattens. Bad idea! I noticed in the moment I assembled the thing: this small piece of tube will be lost the moment I crash the kite. No way to find anything that small again. Anyone who got a better solution? Glue it to something? - Rolf See You on FAN0 (kites allowed in windsurf area and during the festival), ______________ Rolf V. Glue it to something? I used a, how shall I call it, an arrow-end (the thing you stick on the end of the leading edge tip), and connect it with a rubber band to the end of the sail (god, I must learn the words for all those tiny pieces). The battens go into the arrow-end and the rubber band keeps them in position. works for me ! emiel Emiel Stroeve The Netherlands miel@knoware.nl --------------------------------------------------------------------------- <<< *** http://www.euronet.nl/users/mielse/index.html *** >>> = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Date: Sun, 21 Jan 1996 11:49:36 -1000 From: pdjnjvt@knoware.nl (Peter de jong) Message-Id: <4ducee$8at@news.knoware.nl> Organization: Knoware Internet Subject: Re: La Hembra construction details rvo@pip.dknet.dk (Rolf V. Glue it to something? Did you put the tube under the spine? If so, use a longer spine like in the photograph fom SK II, take a hard tube, drill a hole in the middle all the way through so it can slide over the spine. Two little holes in the side for the battens. now use the normal 2 elastic bands and endcap (glued?) to keep tension on the sail & battens. Can't loose that one.
