      provided the XServer crash;
    - the too slow screen scroll to bottom or to right in "Full"
      screen mode took place.

3.1. The following enhancements have been made:

  3.1.1. XServer:
    - four local X-Clients, the first signs, are available
      from the XServer's "Run" menu;
    - the "SilentAuthAuditReject" setting is added.

  3.1.2. NFS-Client for MS Windows NT4:
    - was implemented. Operates only with mapped drives yet.

  3.1.3. NFS-Client for MS Windows NT4/2000/XP:
    - is operational under MS Windows 2000/XP Terminal Server Edition;
    - the root ("/") exported directories may be mounted;
    - the UNIX attributes of remote directories and files are accessible
      via the MS Windows Property Sheet facility.

  3.1.4. FTP:
    - works correctly with the Windows NT 4.0 FTP-daemon;

  3.1.5. XStartup:
    - the new mode, "local Shell", was implemented to start any local executable file.
      Applicable to start local X-Clients.

  3.1.6. NFS-Server:
    - the file max. length was increased from 2GB to 4GB;

  3.2.3. NFS-Server:
    - a mounted CD may freely be ejected without influence on other mounts.

  3.2.4. XServer:
    - dirty substrate may take place in "Single" window mode;
    - extra X11 refresh requests took place in "Multiple" window mode
     (especially, if the "forced Backing Store" setting is set).

      4. Undocumented Features
	*************************

  4.1. XServer and XSettings:
     - the empty, or "255.255.255.255" or "0.0.0.0" contents
       of the "Broadcast File" field provides the "natural"
       XDMCP broadcast mode when users need not fill in any file
       (see also the "The following enhancements have been made"/XServer
       above);
     - the "GlxExtension" box should be checked to enable
       the "GLX" extension;
     - four new keyboard definitions (Polish, Rus, RusAlt, Finnish) were added.

  4.2. XServer:
     - the "Restore"/"Minimize" menu items of XServer in "Multiple+remoteWM"
       mode provides "visibility" of XServer's background in an additional
       non-large window. This "background" may be used to control
       functionality of the windows manager used (usually, this is pressing on
       mouse-buttons);
     - the "DontUse_MOTIF_WM_HINTS=1" line can be
       inserted into the "[XSERVERdeb]" section of the configuration file
       to prevent from processing the "_MOTIF_WM_HINTS" windows property;
     - the "DontCheckWM_SIZE_HINTSinc=1" line can be
       inserted into the "[XSERVERdeb]" section of the configuration file
       to prevent from processing the "WM_SIZE_HINTS" windows property;
     - four local X-Clients, the first signs, are available
       from the XServer's "Run" menu. These are well-known standard X11
       applications: "mwm", "xkill", "xev" and "xclock";
    - the "SilentAuthAuditReject=1" line can be
       inserted into the "[XSETUP]" section of the configuration file
       to suppress the Authorization Audit message.

  4.3. NFS-Client for Windows 9x:
     - may be installed manually after installation of this package
       from the "XWPNFS32.W95" subdirectory of the installation directory
       (see the "XWPNFS32.W95\readme" text file for more information).

  4.4. NFS-Client for Windows NT4/2000/XP:
     - may only be installed manually after installation of this package
      (see the top of this readme file).

  4.5. Network layout:
     - the "KeepAlive=1" line can be
       inserted into the "[NETWORK]" section of the configuration file
       to set the "KeepAlive" TCP/IP mode.

  4.6. NFS-Server:
     - the "FlushFRDC=1" line can be
       inserted into the "[NFSSERVER]" section of the configuration file
       to provide non-buffered I/O operations.

  4.7. Ftp:
    - FTP connections (in the "non-Passive", default, mode) may be made through
      an existing SSH connection with prepared Forwarded ports.
      This way does not require especial Telnet/SSH facility and may be used
      with any SSH-client which provide traditional Forwarding.
      All settings are made manually.
      Let's assume that you need to access the remote host
      (say, 192.168.136.41) via FTP, and SSH connection is made with the SSH daemon
      which is on another remote host (say, 192.168.136.34), and each host
      is directly accessible one from another (192.168.136.41 <-> 192.168.136.34).
      Also, you should know two free ports on local machine (say, 21 and 4444) and
      one on the remote host connected via SSH (say, 5555 on 192.168.136.34).
      At first, two forwardings must be made via SSH-Client facility.
      Local-to-Remote: "21->192.168.136.41/21" (that in natural for FTP)
      and Remote-to-Local Forwarding: "4444<-5555".
      After that you must add two lines to the "[FTP]" section in the "xwp.ini" file:
      "IP_SSH_FWD=192.168.136.34" and "PORT_SSH_FWD=5555,4444" (i.e., set
      the remote and local ports).
      Now the FTP may be started. The "host" field must contain "localhost"
      or "127.0.0.1". The "non-Passive" mode must be set up (i.e.
      the "Passive Transfer" check box is unchecked).
      After "Connect" the FTP will be connected with "192.168.136.41"
      without any direct network access (only via SSH connection).

  4.8. LPD:
     - to set a new value for the LPD listening port,
       the "WaitPort=..." line must be added
       to the "[LPDAEMON]" section of the "xwp.ini" file.
       E.g., "WaitPort=123" sets the LPD wait port to value "123".

  4.9. Installation:
    - the "silent" installation process consists of the following two steps.
      The first step is the creation a silent script file.
      To do this, please run the "setup.exe" installation executable file
      with the two options: "setup -r -f1.\setup.iss". After installation
      completion the "setup.iss" script file will be created.
      The second step is for using this "setup.iss" script file in subsequent
      "silent" installations. To do this, please put the "setup.iss" file
      into the distributive directory (where the "setup.exe" file exists) and
      run the "setup -auto" command line.
      After installation (successful or not) you can find the "mkltrace.out"
      file (near the "setup.iss" and "setup.exe"). This is the ASCII tracing
      file. Note that the "silent" installation may require interactive
      actions if installation detects serious problems.

        5. Known problems
        *******************

  5.1. XServer:
     - drawing partial arcs may be very slow ;
     - the CDE/XDMCP of the HP-UX host may provide infinite
       waiting for connection. To avoid this, the new "HP" fonts
       alias directory should be included into the XServer FontPath;
     - the "Forced Backing Store" setting may provide wrong
       screen re-displaying in some cases (e.g., Netscape scrolling).

  5.2. Lpd:
     - printers on the remote MS Windows NT 4 hosts
       are unavailable from the local host under MS Windows NT 4 .

  5.3. NFS-Server:
     - may have problems on PCs with several IP addresses;
     - some Linux NFS-3 Clients may issue an error message
       (about the wrong file ID) because of wrong packets unwrapping
       in the Linux's "nfs3xdr.c" module.

  5.4. NFS-Client for Windows 9x:
     - PC must be restarted after you change the license
       file, "xwpdllid.dll" .

  5.5. NFS-Client for MS Windows 2000:
    - NFS-Client does not operate under MS Windows XP ("Whistler").

  5.6. Uninstallation:
     - the uninstallation procedure does not remove components
       which were installed in additional (non-first) installation
       sessions. Such additional components should be removed manually.

------------
PLEASE NOTE:
------------
The programs associated in this package may send and/or receive broadcast IP
requests. Since such packets cannot cross the nearest firewall/gateway/router,
please be sure that these IP requests are invisible from outside your network.
We assume that such behavior cannot be considered as "Hacking"
or "Trojan horse's action".
