FUNCTIONALITY OVERVIEW

PGP Command Line provides a convenient way for you
to integrate PGP's strong authentication and 
encryption features with other applications and
automated processes. Examples include encrypting
credit card transactions, personnel records, etc.

The following commands provide on-line help for each
of the major product areas:

* To display all of the encryption/decryption options:
      pgp -h

* To display all of the key management options:
      pgp -k

* To display all of the group management options:
      pgp -g

Also included with this release are the following 
manuals, which can be viewed on-line as well 
as printed:

* Introduction to Cryptography 
* PGP Command Line User's Guide

Each document is saved in Adobe Acrobat Portable 
Document Format (.PDF). You can view and print 
these documents with Adobe's Acrobat Reader. PDF 
files can include hypertext links and  other 
navigation features to assist you in finding 
answers to questions about your Network 
Associates product.

This document can be found in the /usr/man/man1 
(Linux) /opt/PGPcmdln/man/man1/ (Solaris) directory 
after the PGP Command Line product has been installed.  
For more information on how to view the man page, type 
"man man" (without quotes) at the command prompt 
(Linux and Solaris).

* PGPCmdLineGuide.ps

This is a postscript file of the Command Line Guide. 
This document is located in /usr/docs/pgp-6.5.1 (Linux)
and /opt/PGPcmdln/docs (Solaris).

KNOWN ISSUES

1. The BATCHMODE flag is not supported when used 
   with a UNIX-style filter.

2. The -m and -w options cannot be used together 
   (pgp -mw <file>). Use pgp -m first.

3. The functionality to preserve a signature from 
   within an encrypted file is not available in
   this release.

4. The ability to use the +makerandom feature is 
   not supported in this release.
