 The lockup bug that I had reported before happened again, just a bit
ago.  I was using customize to set the gnus read active file variable.
It worked fine once, and 'g' read the file so I could subscribe to
some new groups.  But when I used the Buffers menu to switch back to
that customize buffer, the frame split, and gave an error saying that
something was being removed from the post command hook.

 No, I did not have backtrace on error set...  I will set it now and
see if I can get it to happen again.  I'll have to take a shot of it
with `xv' if it does it, since I won't be able to paste from the
XEmacs.
