While I got `xemacs.core' and my `coredumpsize' is unlimited, though I
couldn't get C backtrace because it might be caused in libc or libX*?
The temacs was compiled and linked with `-g', and not stripped.
I'm running "Berlin" with *pure* XFree86 3.3 (X11R6.3) and *pure*
FreeBSD 2.2.2.
Either of X11R6.3 or FreeBSD's library might be buggy.
I lost X11R6.3 source tree for my disk crash, it discouraged me to
build it again.

Hmm, kiput2 worked fine to me once I use:
    +  kinput2 2.0 fix 3 (1997/02/03) options: [Canna2],
    +  set $LANG to "ja" (aliased to ja_JP.EUC on FreeBSD),
    +  compiled XEmacs with your patch and --with-xim=xlib
    +  X resource *inputMethod is "@im=kinput2"
