RMS is such a loser^H^H^H^H^H misguided individual with respect to copyright
assignment. He hasn't declared "total war" on Linux, has he? Certainly the
linux world would be all mired up in beaurocracy if such assignments were
necessary.

At some point, the mere _availability_ of source code is sufficient to
maintain a cooperative spirit...

And the GPL is a bit too strict, in my opinion. If someone wants to _charge
for extending_ a GPLed product, more power (profit) to them...just so long as
they maintian the free-software spirit of making the source available to the
people that bought their enhancement (empowering them to fix bugs
themselves) and not trying to milk the original work for more than it's
worth...

PS: By the way, will anyone else on xemacs-beta be attending the Financial
Cryptography conference next month in the Carribbean?

Or the Computers, Freedom, and Privacy conference in March?
