The new dired is wierd.  I thought the "button2 toggles..." was
totally cool on the file mode - until I tried it.

Here's my new shell script.  OK, I'll make it executable the cool new
way.  It said "rw-r--r--".  So I just click button2 on the first "-".
What does it say?  "rwSr--r--".  I tried clicking on the g+x.  Now
I've got "rwsr-Sr--".

Now here's the *really* strange part.  After those preceeding
operations, now the mode is no longer colorized, and is no longer
sensitive.  It's just shown in black foreground.  Pressing 'g' to
re-read the dir doesn't fix it either, although all the other files
have their modes still hilighted normally.

Gees.
