Compiled on Linux with graphics and mule(canna) but no libfaces both
with XFree86-3.2.
Running fine on version 2.0.27 with network. Crashes on linux-2.1.14
with no network.

There was some problem when I first tried to run it on a machine with
no network with linux-2.1.14 and libc-5.4.17. It ran properly after I
set HAVE_SOCKETS to 0. This is the environment in which xemacs tends
to crash (4 times in about 8 hours). The two patterns in which it
crashes are:

1. On startup. But runs properly the second time around.
2. When I switch to another virtual window(Fvwm-2.0.43) and back and
   type C-x f.
           ^around here.

I'll try to come up with more details but to this point all I've been
able to get from "gdb> where" was a message about something in kill().
I'm going to reinstall libc without stripping it and see if I can get
more information out of it. I compiled xemacs itself with -ggdb3.

I've been using xemacs under 2.0.27 with libc-5.3.12 for about 6-7
hours now, mostly doing editing and reading netnews. It hasn't crashed
yet.

TThere is one strange phenomenon. This must be a newbee question but...
I've set the following in my .Xdefaults:

Emacs.default.attributeFont: -*-*-medium-*-*-*-16-*-*-*-*-*-*-*

I usually get 16 dot fonts but when reading Gnus the *Group* buffer
uses green 14 dot fonts. When I disable a group using 'u' it gets
shown in black and in 16 dot fonts. When I do edit-faces I get a
buffer with different sized fonts in different colours.
The language environment is "Japanese."

Thanks in advance.
