Hmmm... earlier I said that I knew this worked in 19.13 for
autosave... but the only case that I remember noticing it was autosave
of my Inbox, which is a heck of a lot bigger than 64K.

So don't take that comment as fixing the start of the behaviour in
time, as I have no idea how long this has been hiding there.
