I'll do this ASAP. 

But shouldn't set-glyph-baseline work? I tried this, but had no
success so far. I'm wondering why the glyphs stick to the top and not
to the basline by default when using a real big font.

Bill, you _must_ have some experience with set-glyph-property because of
w3, don't you? Any help?
