I looked through the info and NEWS and can't find the answer to this -
is it possible to set the name of the first frame (and
default-frame-name) via an xresource? Why does XEmacs want to use
"emacs" as its default frame name? Why not "XEmacs"?

Also, why does XEmacs use "Emacs" as the resource name?
The settings I use for XEmacs screw up gnu Emacs - the default
background (midnightblue) only gets applied to the text, and blank
areas come out white. (another reason to use only XEmacs.. :-))

Finally, there seems to be a bug in the NEWS file (19.15b93):

> The attributes of faces are also per-frame. They can be specified as:
>
> Emacs.FACE_NAME.parameter: value
>
> (*do not* use `Emacs*FACE_NAME...')

       ^^^^^^^^ ^
  [:]

> To set the font of normal text, use `Emacs*default.attributeFont'.

                                            ^
Should I be using the "*" or a "."?

thanks,
Greg
