THANKS! I'm glad someONE is on my side on this. I'm merely trying to
fix Michael Kifer's defadvice problem right now, and even reproducing
that is next to impossible. There is an evil interaction with advice
though that I've noticed. That problem is in ange-ftp, too, though.
(The only difference was that ange-ftp didn't try to overload
find-file.

Adrian> What are the implications of the efs-patches?

Functionally, none. (I.e., except for a few typos, no code has
changed.) It's just supposed to trigger autoloading EFS in a dumped
vanilla XEmacs without having to load efs-auto.

Adrian> How is one supposed to test efs after applying the patches?

Testing should be done by *not* loading efs or efs-auto on startup and
trying to use EFS.

Adrian> Should etc/sample.emacs still have the following fragment or should
Adrian> this be thrown out or updated?

Updated. I'll get to it tomorrow.

Cheers =8-} Mike
