Right, certain system calls like (connect) can not be interrupted by
using C-g, since the X window code isn't around at the moment to see
these keystrokes.  However, it should notice within a "reasonable" time
of 30 seconds or so.  If this happens again, can you attach to the
running process with gdb, and get a stack trace?
