Pete,

The one package I'm responsible for is `backup-dir', which does for backups
what `auto-save' does for autosaves. Here's a simple description:

backup-dir.el: Emacs functions to allow backup files to live in some
other directory(s). At last, backup files no longer have to be strewn
throughout your directories and can all live in one place.

To the rest of xemacs-beta,

Has anyone tried this out? I'm open to any feedback on the
functionality and interface.

thanks,
Greg
