There are no binaries around when the Installation file gets written

Yup.  Only thing is, I'd hate to have it around while developing.  It
is also one more thing that can break.  I think instead of adding
more stuff to the build process some thought should be given to a
magical command that can be invoked once the binary is built that
gathers everything up and sends it off at a key stroke.

If done in this fashion, send-pr can augmented.  I'm not nearly as
concerned about this information from people on the list as from
miscellaneous bug reports.  We added a hack to put the version # in
the C stack backtrace in a core dump because many of the reports we
get don't include a version number (or an architecture type for that
matter).
