 It might be a little faster; the highlight follows the mouse in dired
about the same as it did with 20.1, as far as I can tell.  Moving the
middle modeline of a split window is about the same; it lags behind
the mouse a bit, and sometimes the mouse loses ahold of it. That
action is very fast with FSF's GNU Emacs. What can I use as a fair
benchmark?  I'm curious how the 5% speedup was measured.
