GPM is 'general purpose mouse' library. It runs under linux consoles,
and lets you use the mouse from within XEmacs on a TTY. Theoretically it
can work under XTerm as well, but you need to use a special function they
have that reads keystrokes instead of 'read', which I'm not sure, but would
probably break lots of shit in XEmacs.
