The Juno Remailer

Accepts and remails PGP encrypted messages which are formatted in accordance with the cypherpunk
remailer standard. Supports USENET posting by taking Anon-Post-To: messages and sending them to
a mail2news server that takes the newsgroup in the e-mail address.

To run this remailer, you will need:

 - Windows 3.1+
 - VBRUN300.DLL
 - Juno installed with at least one account established
 - PGP properly installed
 - Screen savers disabled (you can try it, but it messed things up for me)
 - Intestinal fortitude

Steps to installing the remailer:

o Make sure Juno is installed, and that you have a working account to use.
o Make sure PGP is properly installed, and that you have generated a key for the remailer
o Unzip the files into a directory of your choice. I use x:\remailer.
o Run the remailer. It will probaly complain about something not being right, and
kick you into the configuration screen. Fill out the fields IN THE ORDER THEY APPEAR
and click OK. Restart the remailer.
o Send yourself an encrypted remailer message, or even a remailer-help message to make sure
   things are working right.

Some things you should know:

The remailer cannot do a thing with the messages until Juno is closed. If Juno fails to close
for some reason, the remailer cannot process messages.

Improperly formatted messages will be appropriatly filed into one of the designated folders
you will find in the message manager (File|Message Manager).

Any message with the word "block" in the subject will cause the remailer to send a block
request confirmation letter to the sender, which they need to return to the remailer by
using their reply function. When the remailer receives this reply, their address will be
automatically blocked, and they will receive a letter confirming the block. If for some reason
the reply lands in the non-remailer bin, the message must have been mangled, and you should
manually block the address.

The source and destination blocking features use a case insensitive substring comparison to
determine if the message should be shit-canned. If you block .gov, any address with .gov will
be discarded. If you enter a single dot, EVERY message will be discarded.

Some events are always logged. Message details can be logged with the /log command-line switch.
Don't use it. Bad thing.

See the HELP.TXT file for details on how the remailer works from a user perspective.

Any message with "remailer-key" or "remailer key" in the subject results in the
file PUBKEY.TXT being sent to the From: address in the message.

A subject containing "remailer-help" or "remailer help" will send the file HELP.TXT.

Any file that gets sent by the remailer (such as the help file) or that you manually insert in a
reply may contain "\junoaddress" which will be replaced automatically with your juno address.

Please send all correspondence directly to grit_remailer@juno.com. I'll fish your message
out of the nonremailer bin..

Have a blast!
