INTERNATIONAL REPRESENTATION
 
The Society has over 14,000 members and on a per capita basis is one of
the largest computer societies in the world. It plays an active role in
international affairs and represents Australia in the International
Federation for Information Processing (IFIP), and the South-East Asian
Regional Computer Federation (SEARCC). Members of the  Society have the
opportunity to play an active role in  various technical committees,
working groups and other  activities conducted by the International
bodies.
 
The Society has entered into reciprocal agreements with a number of
overseas computer societies including:
 
* Association for Computing Machinery (USA)
* British Computer Society
* Canadian Information Processing Society
* Computer Society of Sri Lanka
* Hong Kong Computer Society
* Malaysia National Computer Organisation
* New Zealand Computer Society
* Singapore Computer Society
 
Members of the Society can join these societies at a  discounted
subscription.
