AUSTRIA/HUNGARY--Cross-border broadcasting from Hungary to listeners in
Austria has now been further extended. Starting July 31st, a 24 hour program
called "Antenne Austria", produced by an Austrian production team is being
broadcast via two VHF transmitters in western Hungary, Kabhegy on 100.5 and
Sopron on 102 MHz. The programs are directed towards listeners in eastern
Austria, including Vienna. Until now, these transmitters have been used to
carry the Radio Danubius programs, produced in Budapest for listeners in
Austria. We assume that Radio Danubius has now been integrated into Antenne
Austria.

Starting at the end of August there will also be a new regional service
called "Radio Carintha" via the Sopron transmitter on 102 MHz. (Manfred

BELGIUM--Radio 4 Internationale from the French language network RTBF can be
heard with good signals from 15:00 hrs on 25645 kHz. (Gerardo Evangelista,

The DX program "Radio World" from BRT International can be heard on
Mondays at 07:00 hrs on 11695 and 21815 kHz and at 18:30 hrs on 17555 and
21815 kHz. This program is also heard Saturdays at 12:30 hrs on 17555 and
21815 kHz and at 15:30 hrs on 21810 kHz. (Ashoka N. Patel, India)

BOLIVIA--Radio La Plata in La Paz can currently be heard on 9717 kHz. It's
been noted at 15:20 hrs with music, news, and sports. (Gerardo Evangelista)

GREECE--ERT Thessaloniki, using the ID Radiofonikos Statmos Makedonias, has
left 9935 and 11610 kHz and can now be heard on 11595 and 11635 kHz weekdays
09:00-22:05 and weekends 05:00-21:20 hrs. In addition, Macedonian Radio has a
daily broadcast 18:00-20:00 hrs via the Voice of Greece on 9425 kHz. (Peter

INDIA--The National Channel of All India Radio, broadcast via the 1000 kW
transmitter at Nagpur on mediumwave 1566 kHz, has extended programming hours
to include all-night operation. Programming is now 13:25-00:40 hrs.

Vividh Bharati, the All India Radio Commercial Service, will be on the air
without a break 01:00-17:30 hrs on Sundays. Frequencies are 15125, 11830,
9615, 9535, and 6115 kHz.

The General Overseas Service in English from All India Radio 10:00-11:00
hrs to Northeast Asia is using a new frequency of 15050 kHz, replacing 15155.
Power is 250 kW.

Some additional AIR domestic stations are now using the 41 meter band for
afternoon transmissions. They are Gauhati B on 7150 kHz (a move from 6130)
06:30-10:15 hrs, and Bhopal on 7180 kHz (a move from 5990) 07:00-09:45 hrs.

ITALY--A new American-based news service called WNIR, World News and
Information Radio, based in Peterburgh, Maryland, is now carried on Sundays
at 09:00 hrs via IRRS Italy on 9860 kHz. (Austrian Shortwave Panorama) IRRS
has moved from 9865 to 9860 kHz. This station broadcasts Sundays only.

Another private Italian SW broadcaster, European Christian Radio, has been
noted on 7335 kHz until close-down at 07:44 hrs, on a Sunday. ("DXclusive
Bulletin", Finland)

MONGOLIA--Radio Ulan Bator broadcasts to Europe 19:40-20:10 hrs on 9985 and
12050 kHz. (Ulrich Berens, West Germany)

PHILIPPINES--The English broadcast from Radio Veritas Asia at 15:00-15:30 hrs
is now reported to be using 9525 and 15445 kHz. 11740 kHz has been

TURKEY--The Balkan service of TRT-2, Ankara, is now on 5980 kHz, with
programs in Bulgarian 16:00-17:00 and 21:00-22:00 hrs and in Turkish 17:00-
21:00 hrs. The broadcasts in Bulgarian are being jammed. Bulgarian 10:00-
10:30 hrs on 11875 kHz has been dropped. TRT-1 can be heard on 9440 kHz
directed to Europe and Africa. (Peter Kvasv)

URUGUAY--Radio Sport, in Montevideo, has been noted on 6045 kHz with a news
broadcast at 13:40 hrs. Radio Montecarlo/Oriental in Montevideo has been
heard on 6140 kHz. (Enzo Luis Gallo, Argentina)

VATICAN CITY--Vatican Radio has replaced its long used frequency of 15090 kHz
with 15100. The service to South Asia on this frequency is 14:30-15:10 hrs in
Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, and English. (Salil Kumar Paul, India)

Another new frequency for Vatican Radio is 15180 kHz, noted 00:50-01:10
hrs, in parallel with 9605 kHz. (Gerald Arrington, California, USA)

YUGOSLAVIA--Radio Yugoslavia in English to South Asia 12:00-12:50 hrs can be
heard on 25795, 21555, and 17740 kHz. (Salil Kumar Paul) Radio Yugoslavia can
be heard in English 18:30-19:00 hrs on 7215 and 9660 kHz. Announced 11735 has
not been heard. (Tim Gundey, Scotland)

UNOFFICIAL RADIO--In SCDX-2053 we reported that Radio Omdurman in Sudan has
been heard on 9435 kHz. Now this frequency is being heard with programs from
the Voice of Oromo Liberation, which opposes the government of Ethiopia.
These programs are heard 15:30-16:00 hrs. 9550 kHz was formerly used, but has
not been heard since late June. (BBC Monitoring)

listeners. Radio Sweden has presented this round-up of radio news, features,
and interviews on Tuesdays since 1948. RS broadcasts to North America: 
  
      15:30 hrs on 17880 and 21610 kHz 
      03:00 hrs on 9695 and 11705 kHz
 
To Europe, Africa, and the Middle East:
  
      15:30 hrs on 21675 kHz (East Africa) 
      17:00 hrs on 1179, 6065, and 9615 kHz
      21:00 hrs on 1179, 9655 and 11705 kHz 

And to Asia and the Pacific:

      12:30 hrs on 17705 and 21610 kHz
      14:00 hrs on 17705 and 21610 kHz
      01:00 hrs on 15390 and 17790 kHz
