Urgh...you were lucky. The Apple ][ ones all had nasty copy-protection...
a real pain to back up, until I finally figured out what they were doing.
You still have to run an extractor ("InfoSnarf") to get present-day data
files out of the older ones (nearly all the 8-bit ones). I'm looking forward
to the same old fun with the used copy of Trinity I just bought (and I've
forgotten how to deprotect the darn things). :/
