I got no replies so far (except one guy who experienced the same problem under
Linux) so I'm posting this again. Sorry for the waste of bandwidth but this is
really bothering me.

I am running 386BSD (latest patchkit). Last week I bought a copy of LTOI I for
the PC. I then grabbed the latest itf from ftp.gmd.de (the archive's name is
itf-pl2-src.tar.z). After untarring it I typed "make bsd_curses" and itf
compiled without a single error (I am using gcc 1.39). But as soon as I try
to start a game ("itf /usr/games/infocom/zork1.dat", for example), itf either
segfaults or coredumps (depending on whether I'm just a normal user or root).

Beyond Zork does start, but after a page or two of text dies, too. The guy
who had the same problems under Linux told me that Bureaucracy shows the same
behavior. I have no idea what's going on. Please help (an executable would
help, too).
