...yeah, it's a bug; in an earlier version of DEJAVU's parser, there's a
bug which keeps the parser from comprehending complex commands; in the
most-recent-but-one, there's a bug in the code that handles disambiguation.

There's new versions of it posted to ftp.gmd.de, in
/if-archive/infocom/compilers/inform, along with a new version of the
parser source, for use with Inform.

Also, DEJAVU isn't very long; you might want to grab the new version of
_Curses_, which implements a new puzzle at the very beginning that I haven't
gotten past yet.  <sigh>  Of course, I've had about 2 minutes this past
week to play adventure games...
