The remailer at \junoaddress also acts as an experimental pseudonym server in addition to a TYPE1 remailer. The nym server is not of the cypherpunk variety. Rather, it is more like the former Penet remailer in that there exists no reply block, and PGP is not required. Your pseudonym is assigned automatically and is not based on your real address.

Unlike the cypherpunk pseudonym servers, which require an encrypted reply block and the use of PGP, this server is not immune to legal or "rubber hose" attacks to obtain your real address from the Anonymous ID.

As noted above, this is an experimental and FREE service. It may not work perfectly. Use it a few times to get used to the way things work, and above all, don't depend on it entirely to shield you from the powers that be. I haven't the time or desire to save your a*s if you do something that puts me in the position of having to reveal your true address.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The examples below use a right angle-bracket followed by a space ("> ") to show what you should enter in the message body. PAY ATTENTION TO THIS. If there are no blank spaces, DON'T ENTER ANY. If there are, enter the blank line EXACTLY AS SHOWN. DO NOT ENTER THE "> ". It is for clarity only. Don't forget the lines (where appropriate) with back-to-back colons "::". If you forget this, your message will be silently discarded.

To use the server, you must first create an account. Send a message as follows:

From: you@somewhere.net
To: \junoaddress
Subject: none

> ::
> CreateAccount
> Password: some pass phrase

A note on passwords: Passwords insure that only you can send mail through your pseudonym. Maximum of 10 characters - additional characters will be cut off. Not case sensitive.

Send mail from your pseudonym like this:

From: you@somewhere.net
To: \junoaddress
Subject: anything (gets passed on)

> ::
> Anonymous-To: recipient@somewhere.com
> Password: your pass phrase
>
> Place the text of the message here..

You can also post to USENET like this:

From: you@somewhere.net
To: \junoaddress
Subject: anything (gets passed on)

> ::
> Anonymous-Post-To: misc.whatever,alt.whatever,etc
> Password: your pass phrase
>
> Place the text of the message here..

Your message will be sent to the recipient, and will look like this:

From: \junoaddress (AnonymousID 7892345)
To: recipient@somewhere.com
Subject: anything (gets passed on)

> The message itself..

There's a limit to the cross-posting - 5 groups, and a Juno-imposed 60KB message size limit.

All messages you send from the account will have reply instructions and a disclaimer appended.

Messages received in the following format will be passed on to your real address:

From: someone@domain.com
To: \junoaddress (AnonymousID 7892345)
Subject: anything (gets passed on)

> Message text
