Files with names ending in .gz have been gzipped.
To extract them:

	gunzip <filename>.gz
	gunzip <filename.tex>.gz

or

	zcat <filename>.tar.gz | tar xf -

The "zcat" and "gunzip" utilities are part of the gzip 
package in ../archive-tools.

The original names of some of the files in this directory
have been shortened.  (We hope eventually to accommodate
all System V machines limited to 14-character filenames.)
