The README text below is a copy of the README which came with
the set of tfm and vf files included here. The *map *sty and
config* files have been distributed into the appropriate directories.

I have favored the users of Sun platforms by providing a link
to the type 1 fonts already licensed on Solaris 2.4 and up.

Users of other platforms should check to see what type1
fonts are already licensed on the OS they use, and link them
in in place of the Sun-specific links. There is no
point in maintaining several redundant copies of the same
pfa/pfb and afm files.

LaTeX users may want to check on the work being done with
"fontinst" for type1 fonts.

This metric file for the Symbol font was
created on Tue Jun 7 12:14:39 1994 by Sebastian Rahtz
using Alan Jeffrey's fontinst program.
It consists of:
+ tfm file for use by TeX
+ .fd (font description) file for use with LaTeX2e
+ a file psy.map which lists the raw font name and its
full PostScript names. This can be added to eg the psfonts.map file
of dvips to ensure that the driver recognizes the names as that
    of a PostScript font
+ a dvips config file config.psy which can be used to tell dvips
about the new font if you do not want to change the default psfonts.map
(usage: dvips -Ppsy to tell dvips about the Symbol font)
