Archive-name: ncaa
Environment: ANSI-C, UNIX

The 'ncaa' package is a free set of programs that manage your pool for the
Tannual NCAA Basketball ournament.

The pool can be configured to use a variety of scoring methods. It makes
things simple for the pool maintainer, since it does all the dirty work. It
also produces some interesting reports on the fly, like the standings and a
consensus which shows such information as the most popular final four picks,
etc.

It also comes with a program that prints nicely formatted tournament brackets
in PostScript. The pool program can feed a blank template, a players' picks,
or the current tournament results directly to the bracket printer.

The pool can be run solely by the pool administrator, or can be set up as
a publicly executable program where the users of a multiuser system can do
their picks and browse the reports on their own. You can also set it up to
run from the network so players all over the network can just login and run
the program themselves.

I will always (I hope so, anyway) have the NCAA tournament data file already
typed in and ready to use with the program. You can get that via ftp from the
archive site after ``Selection Sunday.'' Full source code of the most recent
version is also available at the FTP archive.

If you have any questions, comments, whatever, let me know.
Enjoy!
