There are lots of major festivals already. You would be hard pushed to find
a weekend when you wouldn't be competing with another established international
event. However, this sounds like an ideal site for the AKA convention. They
move it to a different state every year, so if you have Memphis backing you,
I think you are in with a good chance. About now is probably a good time
to start working towards the 1996 event.

A couple of questions:
What's the wind like in Memphis?
Have the AKA been there before?

What do you think Dave? Brooks?

Hi this is Suzanne Edison I help with the AKA Annual meetings. Please
send me any information on kite sites for conventions. Next year we are
going to Tulsa, OKLAHOMA in 1996 a good site is needed the west coast
would be best, California, or Colorado but we are open to any suggestions.
Remember the site should have a hotel that can accomadate 600 people for
banquet funtions. The size of kite fields is important at least the size
of 4 football fieldsor ( 300' x 300') and to buggy the more area the
better. We like to have the hotel right next to the field if possible and
other concerns are that the site be near (within 15 miles) an
international airport. If you have any good sites in mind please send in
writting a letter explaining what your site is like etc. Suzanne Edison,
116 North Water Street Greenwich CT 06830 Fax call first 203-531-4684.
