Subject: EVENTS IN ENGLAND

I'm new to this stunt kite stuff and am looking for some information. I've
been reading the notes about kiting events around the country and plan to
attend some of those scheduled in my area. My question is primarily for our
kiting buddies in the UK. I will be travelling on business to the York area
the week of Aug 15. I was wondering if there are any events scheduled for that
time. Also, are there any interesting shops I could visit while I was there?
I would greatly appreciate any information you could provide.

Thanks

Robt B.

Hokay, here goes. I dunno how far you're willing to travel ( I assume not
hundreds of miles ), and I'm not clear whether you're planning on being in
the UK on the weekend of the 13/14th ( I assume not ).

On this basis the only listed event is the Oldham Kite Festival, on the 21st
of August. Oldham is about 70 miles from York.

I think this is a Northern Kitefliers event, so contact :

Ron Ogden,
41 Ashfield Drive,
Clayton Bridge,
Manchester,
M40 1WJ

tel 061 682 9308

Other events, further away, include :

Aug 21st Coventry Kite Festival ( 105 miles )

This is a Midland Kite Fliers event. Contact :

Julie White,
4 Hermitage Court,
Oakwood,
Derby,
DE2 2LG

tel 0332 669203

There seems to be a kite group ( York Kite Fliers ) based in York :

Bob Pickford,
11 Cherry Paddock,
Haxby,
York,
YO3 8DR
