Subject: Flying in Phoenix or Scottsdale

Could anybody give me suggestions for flying locations and conditions near
either Scottsdale or Phoenix at this time of year?  One of the guys in my
office is going out there over the x-mas/new year holidays, and would like
to fly while he is there.  Any info would be helpful.
