My Aiko's paper sampler is 3"x6", stapled on the short side, like a
coupon book.  The samples should be big enough so that we can hold
them up and see how they look with the light coming through them.
Don't know how you'd identify the colors?  Maybe write directly on
the samples, or perhaps a paper sheet between each piece...
(Something low-overhead, to keep your life simple <g>.)

How about business card size, 2"x3.5" sheets?  Maybe 2"x3"?  Stapled 
into a little booklet.  Think that Shanti has a sampler close to this  
size.  Looked good to me. :-)
