Subject: Help in locating!

Hi,
I was hoping to get some assistance here. I am trying to locate the
supplier of a Wind Sock I saw in a Kite Store. It is a NFL sock in the
shape of a football player. The team that I am most interested in is the
Green Bay Packers.

Thanks in advance!

I respond (and hope The Kite Oracle doesn't trash me) They are made by
Colores up in Bellingham, Washington and are available in many kite stores
including but not limited to that one in Monterey California know far and
wide as Windborne Kites. Retail cost is approx $35 as the NFL has done a
marvelous job selling themselves and require a substantial license fee.
If you can't find it anywhere else, and are desperate, call 1-800-234-1033
during business hour any day and some one there will begrudgingly help
you. Have your credit card handy.

ps: I work there and obviously believe we are doing a good job of it.

OK, Ok, I'll get off your case.

In fact, I'd reccommend that anyone who goes to California to make the
effort to drop in at Corey's shop at Monterey, (even if it's a few hours
out of your way). It is not merely this NFL range that he stocks, rather
Corey has the most impressive array of windsocks on display that I've
seen anywhere.

After you've visited a few kite stores, they tend to become very similar.
Certainly, some cater more for building, some cater more for tourists,
and the stock varies acording to what's good value locally, but they tend,
after a while to become a little indistinct. Windbourne on the other hand
sticks out in my mind as having an outstanding range of stuff on display.
Look carefuly and you'll some interesting stuff around. There's a Gibson
Girl near the counter and one of the steerable target kites (who's name
escapes me for the moment - the one with the rudder). There is a Lynn
Octopus on the ceiling and custom stuff to be found.

It is worth the trip, but phone ahead to check when the man himself will
be there - he seems to only turn up at the shop for a few hours per week.
