Subject: Where to fly in Montreal?

I will be in Montreal Wednesday and Thursday of this week. Can
anyone tell me of a nice spot to fly downtown?

I will be spending a week or so in Montreal soon (next week), and plan to
bring my kites. Does anyone have suggestions on the best places to fly
kites?

I'm a little embarrassed to ask this, since I was born and raised in
Montreal, and lived there until we moved to San Diego two years ago. But I
only took up kite flying last October, and so had no reason to know where
kites are flown when I lived there.

Anyway, does anyone have suggestions?

LG

Well, there's a big park in Saint-Lambert, on the South Shore. If you
want more info, E-mail the president of the Kite Federation of Quebec,
Kenny Blackburn, at kblackbu@phy.ulaval.ca.

Thanks. I know that park on the south shore, and it seems it would be a
good place. I've also taken your suggestion and emailed Kenny Blackburn.

Thanks for your help.

Hey Lionel....

I too am a ex-Monrealler :-( and I also didn't start flying untill I left
but I think I know where the local club flies. (do you miss the bagels
and smoked meat as much as the rest of us do?)

It's actually on the shouth shore in St. Lambert just west of the Jacques
Cartier bridge next to Champlain College...(the name of the park escapes
me at the moment).
You might also like to check out the kite shops in Old Montreal. They are
both on St.Paul str. They may be able to point you to other flying places
in and around the city.

BTW...Say Hi to the guys from Azur (if you see them)....Ask them if they
are planning to come to On The Edge this year.

Hope this helps.....
