The agenda was approved. A92/9a Protocoll from work group meeting A91/1 The protocoll was accepted A92/9b ZIG-information There are different Object Identifiers for MARC-formats in Z39.50 and SR. Liv Aa. Holm will take this up on the next ISO and IFOBS meetings in April. There are many proposals for new APDUs and changes to the standard in the Z39.50 implementors group. This could become a problem for interoperability between SR and Z39.50. Liv Aa. Holm makes a list of proposals and discussions from ZIG. Geir Pedersen will attend the next ZIG meeting, in March. The members of the work group prepares questions for Geir Pedersen to discuss with ZIG. SLS, the makers of LIBERTAS, are sponsing a seminar on Z39.50 in London this spring. A92/9c Information from VTLS We have no new information from VTLS on their implementation of Z39.50 A92/9d Reports from relevant meetings Liv Aa. Holm spoke on a meeting of Norwegian Research Libraries, and presented the Nordic SR-net project. Svein Parnass and Liv Aa. Holm will speak on the Oslo On-line conference. JNT have asked Liv Aa. Holm to give a talk at the JANET Networkshop March 24.-26, 1992. Electronic Networking has asked Liv Aa. Holm for an article on SR. Juha Hakala has written an article for Signum, on Internet Services. Goeran is writing an article for Libris. Ole Husby will talk on Open Systems, including SR, at the ELAG conference in Ravenna. The EWOS meeting, March, 10. , is open. A92/10 Report from phase I. The report will be stored on our file archive when it is approved by the board. Geir Pedersen is NORDUNETs representant in the work group. A92/11 ISODE UBO/University of Oslo BIBSYS FEK ISODE is installed and tested. Geir Pedersen recommends Marshall Rose's The Open Book for reading. BIBSYS had to reinstall all software on their machine because of a break in. Version 7.0 of ISODE is now installed. There is no new information from IBM. ISODE is available on AIX- machines. Natural Network can be used as a front-end for databases on non-unix machines. FEK have installed ISODE and FTAM Testing of X.500 has priority. Geir Pedersen, Nils Pukstad, Henrik M. Hansen and Jan Arve Laegreid will do the programming. They will have a meeting in Oslo at March, 30. A92/12 IPRL, document SRN-34 The document should be changed to be consistent with SRN-39. The SR-packet should include a conversion utility to and from different MARC-formats. The project should try to establish UNIMARC as the standard format. The procect needs to know what conversion utilities that are available in the different countries. A92/13 API The API was accepted with the following comments: Authentication is separated in two character fields, for username and password. We need a catalogue mechanism. The API will probably have to be changed as the project develops. A92/14 Phase II and V. Document SRN-32, version dated 21.01.92. 2.1. The implementation should be open for new APDUs, and for new values in the BIB-1 attribute set. 2.3 We have the following possibilities: 1. Full OSI-stack 2. TCP and OSI-stack according to RFC 1006 3. Presentation layer on TCP, according to RFC 1085 4. SR on top of TCP It is not necessary to decide which option to use yet, as ISODE supports 1-3. 3.1 BIBSYSare responsible for qualitycontrol in the implementation phase 3.4 LIBRIS are responsible for developing a test suite. 3.5 TKAY are responsible for setting up a test suite for testing networking between the SR implementations. Phase II and phase V continue until 30.11.92 Phase VI starts 01.12.92 A92/15 The project plan All members of the work grup have to deliver work hours reports. The project will receive compensation from Nordinfo for the effects of the devaluation of Finnish Mark. The next meeting is in Stockholm 09.04.92 at 10am. The meeting was adjourned at 3.45pm.
