Subject: IBM Beta Program for System Performance Monitor
         (OS/2 SPM/2)

OVERVIEW

IBM is initiating a Beta program for future versions of their LAN
Systems products. The software is being made available solely for
the purpose of testing and development feedback and should NOT be
used in production.

The following product is now available through the Beta program:

* OS/2 SPM/2 2.0

SPM/2 2.0 is an integrated package of powerful facilities that allow
you to monitor resources such as CPU, RAM, disk and more on your local
and remote IBM Operating System/2 2.0. SPM/2's ability to graph this
resource information allows you to look at "live" data as well as
"prerecorded" data for any monitored workstation in your LAN.

* Collects critical resource utilization data: CPU, memory, files,
    swap file, FAT/HPFS cache, physical disk, printer and
    communication port

* Records performance data to disk for processing at a later time

* Collects data from multiple nodes in a single recording session

* Provides a real-time graphical representation of how system
    resources are being used (CPU, disk, RAM and swap activity) as
    well as the ability to playback previously recorded data.

* Produces detailed resource utilization reports (from recorded
    data) that can be summarized by workstation, application,
    process or thread

*   Provides in-depth OS/2 2.0 memory analysis information (including
    working set and a view of OS/2 control blocks)

* Monitoring of remote OS/2 LAN Requester as well as Servers
