Installation Instructions for Netclock/GPS Version 2.02

1. Connect one of the PC's serial ports to the Serial Setup Interface of the Netclock/GPS.

2. From the DOS command line type:
>A:\NCBLP202

3. The Program will ask two questions:
	A. What Com port is being used? Com 1 is recommended, the program will accept
 	Com ports 1 to 4.
	B. What is the IRQ setting for that com port? This information must be entered, the default
for Com 1 is 4, and Com 2 is 3. Com 3 and 4 do not have defaults, if they are to be used
	this information must be known.

4. The program will then begin downloading the new code to the Netclock/GPS. During this time
the Netclock stops all operations. There are no outputs except for the rear panel 1PPS. Depending
upon the speed of the PC used, this time will be from 5 to 10 minutes.

5. When the download is complete the Netclock/GPS will automatically restart its synchronization
sequence which can take up to 20 minutes. All outputs will resume as previously configured.
There is no need to re-enter the settings for the Netclock outputs.
Press any key on the PC to end the program.

6. Verification. Using a terminal emulator program issue the command "VER" to the Netclock.
The response should contain the main code version number 2.02, as well as the version numbers
for the other processors in the unit.

7. Problems During Download.

	A. Bad Response to BOOTLOAD, try again? This happens at the beginning of the download
process. Answer yes, and if there is another failure answer No. Then verify the connections
between the Netclock and PC, and verify the correct Com port and IRQ settings. Then
	start the program again.

	B. Bad Response to RE-BOOT, try again? This happens at the end of the download
process. First look at the Netclock, if it is running answer No, otherwise answer yes. If the
unit does not respond correctly, and does not begin operation again, answer No and try
the program again. If the unit still does not respond, cycle the power on the Netclock and
	try again.

	C. Cables disconnected. If the cable is disconnected during the download the program will
be halted until the connection is re-established. The program will pick up the down load
	process where it left off.

	D. Loss of Power to the PC. If the PC is powered off during the download process, turn the
PC back on and restart the program. The download process will start over, re-loading the
	program from start to finish.

	E. Loss of Power to the Netclock. If the Netclock loses power, the PC program will need
to be shut down. When the Netclock has power again, the download process may be started
	again.
